Parents are you feeling overwhelmed, under appreciated and over stimulated?

Parents are you feeling overwhelmed, under-appreciated and overstimulated?

Here's a little secret, we all struggle with feeling overwhelmed, under-appreciated and overstimulation at times!  Throughout my years working with families I have come to realize that every single person that I have met has felt this way. I have also experienced this firsthand as a mom. I am writing this through a lens of both a professional in the field and a mom who has been there, experienced in the days of overwhelm and questioning what to do next.
WHY?
Because parenting is hard and we don't always have the proper tools or guidance to help us parent the way we want to.  Logically we know that we can't be calm and collected ALL the time, often we are struggling as a parent with feeling overwhelmed and guilty for our own emotions and reactions! We are all just doing the best we can with the skills we have... often we want to do something different but we are stuck in overwhelm and exhaustion and don't know where to start.

~The first step is self compassion, give yourself a little love and forgiveness!
~Next is being aware, knowing something needs to change!
~Then we educate ourselves on development and what to do in the moment.
~Next we work on nervous system regulation and emotional regulation for us as the parent, the hard part about making changes in your kids, is that the process starts with you!
~Then we look at your current routine and create a game plan to address some of the kid/parent situations that create overstimulation and overwhelm.  Maybe that means setting some boundaries in a kind and firm way. Often times it means teaching skills out of the moment.
~As much as we can we practice self love, forgiveness and repair!

Our focus is on shifting and the process not being perfect!
I want to help you realize that there is hope and together we can work on these difficult feelings that arise.  You don't need to be overwhelmed alone.
